Women in Ukraine to boost their IT and creative digital skills free of charge, improving job prospects despite the war

(Switzerland/Ukraine) The Projector Foundation, with the support of the International Trade Centre (ITC), a United Nations agency, is launching a series of IT and creative digital skills for women from rural Ukraine free of charge.

With over 30% of the Ukrainian population residing in rural areas, it is crucial to support and develop professional skills accessible to these communities, especially due to inflow of IDPs. This effort is vital for maintaining the current war-ridden economy, enhancing further economic development, and enabling Ukraine's future recovery. The program's digital work opportunities offer the necessary flexibility to cope with disruptions such as raid alarms and electricity issues. For each individual Ukrainian woman, free training presents a chance to master a new digital profession and move closer to securing a job that brings new opportunities and income. In the last round of ITC-Projector partnership, 30% of certified women have found or improved their job within the 4 months after completing the course.

This program is aimed at 90 women, aged 18 and over, who currently live in rural areas of Ukraine in territories under government control.

Applications for training, which starts in July-August, can be submitted in the following areas:

• Graphic Design Beginning (1 group, 22 people, 3 months)
• IT PM (1 group, 22 people, 3 months)
• Facebook & Instagram Targeting (1 group, 23 people, 2 months)
• SMM for Business (1 group, 23 people, 2 months)

Application deadline: July 22, 2024.

During the courses, students will gain a robust theoretical foundation and apply their skills to build a technical portfolio of real-world cases. The learning process includes working on actual client projects, ensuring that upon successful completion, students will have both a certificate and a comprehensive project for their portfolio. Beyond professional training, program participants receive HR support, assistance with registration on local and global freelancing platforms, help with CV preparation, and interview readiness.
