ITC, SheTrades Argentina Hub extend collaboration
The Agencia Argentina de Inversiones y Comercio Internacional (AAICI), or Argentine Investment and Trade Promotion Agency, will continue to host the SheTrades Argentina Hub until the end of 2026.
The International Trade Centre (ITC) and AAICI have extended their memorandum of understanding on the SheTrades Argentina Hub to support Argentine women entrepreneurs to access international markets.
Since its launch in December 2017, the SheTrades Argentina Hub has facilitated export-related skills trainings, trade fair participation and access to SheTrades Initiative resources.
The trade promotion agency created its Argentinas al Mundo (Argentine Women Go Global) programme in 2021 which is dedicated to promoting the equal participation of Argentine women in international business. Argentinas al Mundo currently houses the SheTrades Argentina Hub. Their latest publication, Empresarias que abren fronteras (Women entrepreneurs opening frontiers) showcases women-led businesses supported under the initiative.
‘Through our partnership with AAICI as the host of the SheTrades Argentina Hub, women have gained the skills they need to navigate and thrive in e-commerce,’ said ITC Executive Director Pamela Coke-Hamilton. ‘We look forward to deepening our partnership with AAICI to unlock greater trade and investment opportunities for Argentine women entrepreneurs.’
As part of the collaboration, Argentinas al Mundo developed an online certification programme on AAICI’s virtual platform, which includes four informative videos on ITC resources for women entrepreneurs. The videos cover ITC and SheTrades, ITC trading tools for market intelligence, digital tools for sustainable trade, and tools for e-commerce.
The videos were jointly created with ITC teams across the organization, including the Office for Latin America and the Caribbean, Trade Market Intelligence, Trade for Sustainable Development, GreenToCompete, ecomConnect and SheTrades Latin America.
Last November, two AAICI representatives participated in the ITC SheTrades Hubs Annual Meeting along with representatives from the 16 other SheTrades Hub host institutions.
They attended training of trainers on market-related tools, shared lessons learned to better support women entrepreneurs, and explored cross-Hub collaboration opportunities to improve SheTrades Hubs’ offerings to women entrepreneurs.
Reinvigorated with the annual meeting’s fresh ideas and with the three-year extension of ITC and AAICI’s collaboration, the SheTrades Argentina Hub will continue to support Argentine women-led businesses to ‘go global.’
